OZNAMY A PODUJATIA SLOVENSKEJ KOMUNITY Veľkonočná nedeľa Pánovho zmŕtvychvstania PRVÉ ČÍTANIE Čítanie zo Skutkov Apoštolov Sk 10, 34a. 37-43 Po jeho zmŕtvychvstaní sme s ním jedli a pili Peter otvoril ústa a povedal: Vy viete, čo sa počnúc od Galiley po krste, ktorý hlásal Ján, dialo po celej Judei; ako Boh pomazal Ježiša z Nazareta Duchom Svätým a mocou a on chodil, dobre robil a uzdravoval všetkých posadnutých diablom, lebo bol s ním Boh. We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life. Message from our Administrator: OUR GREAT EASTER JOY On Easter we celebrate the most important holiday of the Christian faith. We celebrate the essence of our identity as Christians: Jesus was born not only to tell us about God, but he was also willing to suffer and die for us. On Easter, we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead and thus made it possible for us to live forever with God in heaven. On Easter Sunday morning, the Pope gives his blessing for the city of Rome and for the world ('Urbi et Orbi') from the balcony of Saint Peter. The Paschal Time, (Easter period) lasts fifty days (until Pentecost). Thus, the Resurrection of Christ is a transcendent event because, in addition to being a historical event, verified and attested by signs and testimonies, it transcends and surpasses history as a mystery of faith, insofar as it implies the entry of the humanity of Christ in the glory of God. For this reason, the risen Christ did not appear to the world, but to his disciples, making them his witnesses before the people. [CCIC 128] The disciples, who had previously lost all hope, came to believe in the Resurrection of Jesus because they saw him in different ways after his death, talked to him, and experienced that he was alive. Therefore, as Catholic Christians we are filled with joy for the greatest event in human history and especially in our Catholic Church. Our parish of Saint Cyril and Methodius feels this same joy for the same coexistence that we have in our parish community. Despite the challenges we have had due to the pandemic and the economic setbacks that our families have had. But I want at this time to wish all my parishioners great joy in the Risen Christ, so that we can continue building his Kingdom in love and brotherhood as brothers. Celebramos la esencia de nuestra identidad como cristianos: Jesús nació no solamente para hablarnos de Dios, sino que también estuvo dispuesto a sufrir y morir por nosotros. En la Pascua, celebramos que Jesús resucitó de entre los muertos y de esta manera hizo posible que vivamos por siempre con Dios en el cielo. La mañana del Domingo de Pascua, el Papa da su bendición para la ciudad de Roma y para el mundo ('Urbi et Orbi') desde el balcón de San Pedro. El Tiempo Pascual, (período de Pascua) dura cincuenta días (hasta Pentecostés).
